Originally from Albuquerque, NM where she attended the University of New Mexico, Kristian received her MFA from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and thus melded her love for the colorful Southwest with the stunning New England coast. Kristian’s first poetry chapbook, Storm, was released in July 2015 from Swimming With Elephants Publications in Albuquerque, NM. Her other publications of fiction and poetry are published in The Winter Tangerine Review, Philadelphia Stories, Lightning Cake Journal, Ginosko Literary Journal, Minute Magazine, Medusa’s Laugh Press, The Mantle Poetry, Gargoyle Magazine, forthcoming in Drunk Monkeys Literary Magazine & Asimov's Science Fiction. She has featured at Chatter Albuquerque, Reading New Mexico (UNM), and the podcasts "Vessels and Voids" and "Pen & Poet". Kristian is a co-founding editor at the literary journal the Manzano Mountain Review and a former writer at Brewers Crew Magazine and Trend Magazine. She is part-time faculty at the University of New Mexico-Valencia branch campus and a Faculty Affairs Coordinator at University of the People.
Other things that Kristian loves: popsicles, pomegrantes, coffee, adventure stories, pretty much anything that sparkles, tiger lilies, tea, travel, old maps (especially maps with sea monsters), her amazing multi-talented family, her friends who seem to be all over the world now, coffee, her grandfather's stories, spontaneous cooking, blanket forts, being in the mountains, her tower, thunderstorms, all pets, unicorns, dragons, islands, having coffee on islands, the ocean, happening upon magical people, places & things.
